Acceptable Use

Effective: 2026-07-29 · Last updated: 2026-07-29

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes how Cronitorex may and may not be used. It supplements the Terms of Service. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your Account.

1. Prohibited monitoring scope

You may not use Cronitorex to monitor or facilitate any infrastructure related to:

  • Illegal services or content under the laws of Poland, the European Union, or the user's jurisdiction
  • Malware command-and-control (C2) channels, botnets, ransomware infrastructure
  • Coordination of denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service (DoS / DDoS) attacks
  • Phishing infrastructure, credential harvesting endpoints
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any service hosting such material
  • Services that facilitate sanctions evasion, money laundering, or terrorism financing

2. Rate limits and fair use

Each plan includes a monthly event quota and a soft request-rate limit. Sustained traffic above the published quotas is considered abusive and may result in throttling, queueing, or suspension.

Specifically, the following constitute abuse:

  • Sending pings faster than the documented per-monitor rate limit (default: 1 ping per second per monitor)
  • Automated retry loops on failed pings without exponential backoff
  • Using a single Account to monitor jobs belonging to multiple unrelated organisations without an agency / reseller arrangement

3. Customer data hygiene

To protect your users and ours, when sending pings or configuring monitors:

  • Do not include personal data (names, emails, ID numbers, full URLs containing user identifiers) in monitor names or ping payloads
  • Do not include credentials, API keys, tokens, or other secrets in ping payloads or messages
  • Use monitor names that are descriptive but not sensitive (e.g. "db-backup-prod" not "client-acme-pii-export")
  • If you must transmit potentially sensitive context, hash or tokenise it before sending

4. Security and access

  • Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code of the Service except where such restriction is prohibited by law
  • Do not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or its infrastructure without prior written consent (we welcome responsible disclosure - email hello@cronitorex.com)
  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any Account, server, network, or data
  • Do not interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Do not deploy automated tools (scrapers, crawlers) against the dashboard or API beyond your own legitimate monitoring needs

5. Reselling and white-labeling

You may use Cronitorex to monitor your own clients' infrastructure under the Agency / SaaS scenario described in our marketing, where each client is identified by a tag within your Account.

You may not resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service as your own product without a written reseller agreement. Contact hello@cronitorex.com for partnership inquiries.

6. Compliance with applicable law

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all laws and regulations that apply to you, including but not limited to data protection law (GDPR, national implementations), consumer protection law, sectoral regulations (financial services, healthcare), and export control law.

7. Enforcement

If we detect a possible AUP violation, we typically follow this escalation path:

  1. Notification: email to the Account contact describing the issue and giving 7 days to remedy or appeal
  2. Suspension: temporary suspension of the Account (24 hours to 7 days) pending review
  3. Termination: permanent termination of the Account; data retained for 30 days then deleted

For severe violations - including illegal use, security threats, or court orders - suspension may be immediate and without prior notice.

8. Reporting abuse

If you observe content or behaviour on Cronitorex that violates this AUP, please report it to hello@cronitorex.com with subject "AUP report". Include relevant URLs, monitor names, or other identifying information. We do not disclose reporter identities except where required by law.

9. Changes to this AUP

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Minor clarifications take effect immediately upon publication.
